I’m Troy Rose, the craftsman behind T. Rose Knives. Raised in the small, rural town of Lakeport in Northern California, I spent my childhood exploring the woods, hunting, and fishing. My love for knives began in the mid-1980s when I saw my first custom knife, a gift to my best friend that sparked a lifelong fascination with the art of blade-making.

Creativity runs in my family. My father, a custom hot rod builder for over 50 years, could bring any vision to life on wheels. I was also fortunate to work alongside brilliant minds, such as R.H. Jones, a retired IBM engineer and creator of the Koosh Ball. From him, I learned advanced techniques in milling aluminum, TIG welding, and crafting intricate designs from metal.

After retiring from a career in law enforcement in 2023, I turned to knife-making as a means to channel my creativity. Inspired by that first custom knife I saw over 35 years ago and the work of talented bladesmiths worldwide, I set out to create blades that are both beautiful and enduring. From rugged hunting knives to refined kitchen cutlery, each piece I craft is designed to be a unique, lasting tool that creates lifelong memories for its owner. Thank you for supporting my journey.
